Summer is kicking Off!

It is school off! It's April! And I could really feel the rising temperature here in Cavite. It only means that Summer Time is finally hitting the country! It's officially Summer in the Philippines!

What would be the best thing to do to make feel refreshed when summer is kicking off? Maybe most people do is to eat ice cream, Halo-halo, mais con hielo, saging con hielo  or any cold foods that would be a perfect Summer snacks and surely give a refreshed feeling. Surely that people here in the Philippines would really gain their weighs in Summer LOL!  Others were plain to stay at the malls for window shopping (just to benefit their stay in a free airconditioned malls and has free wifi, sitting on a bench while FB-ing. Relaxing without spending much huh!)  Or...have a family outing and dip in to the pool or beach!

I just want to share our Boracay vacation in 2012...

Yes, it's almost two years now since we were there in July 2012. It was the Family's first outing that need to fly by plane and see for the White sand beach!. Oh! This too is our first family outing by the beach because most of our outings were by the swimming pool. Blessfuly that the first beach that our sons would be stepping on is fine and white sand :) This too is the Family's First travel by plane. I admit that it was a tight budget trip, so we considered the budget-wise and budget-friendly bookings for our 5-days stay on the island. What we really wanted is to enjoy the trip as family and step on the white fine powdery sand of Boracay which was very popular to tourists from around the globe!  I was just curious that time how powdery the sand is that these tourists are keep coming back to this island. And finally got the answer to my curiosity..that white powdery sand of Boracay beach is palpably very fine that even when you walk by the beach in bare foot, 100%, it won't hurt you at all!

Boracay Landmark in Station 1-- The Grotto
The Beautiful Sun
Boracay is a small island in the Philippines located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is a dog-bone shaped island surrounded with its powdery white sand Beaches that the island boasts of. It was chosen as one of the Best Island in 2012 by the known international Magazine--Travel + Leisure. Apart from its white sand beaches, Boracay is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation. It is also emerging among the top destinations for tranquility and nightlifeIt also has lively hotels along the 4 kms long white beach from station1,2 and 3 where you could stay so you won't able to miss the activities at night. But we chose to stay in a Villas away from the beach so we could have peaceful, silent and restful night when we are sleeping.

We flew an hour from Manila to Caticlan via Cebu Pacific. Another 10 minutes boat ride from Caticlan Jetty port to Boracay main Island. We booked and stayed on Villas just near the Boracay jetty port. Since it has cheap price, we separately got 2 rooms. One for the boys and the other for me and hubby :) We stayed for the whole 5 days there.

Our first day was just a plain rest day in the Villas since we were new to the Island. We came there just like a vacationist, owned that we were one of the locals. In the afternoon, hubby and i went to the market (we just asked the tricycle driver to drop us off to the nearest wet market) and bought some stocks since the Villas have kitchen facilities we could use for cooking and a refrigerator to stock our foods.

Our second day was finally a start of discovering the BEACH! Unfortunately, we can't possibly go to the beach right away because it was pouring rain in the morning of day 2.

Rain, rain go away little Nzo wants to swim all day!

So we prayed and waited for it to stop. It was an answered prayer though! Sun sneaked in the afternoon and finally readied for swimming! The Villas is far from the beach proper, so we had to hire a tricycle and travel another 15-20 minutes to reach the beach with minimal P100 fee per travel. We were 7 heads, so that's just paying less!

We're finally at the BEACH! It's swimming time!

Boys were having fun!

On day 3, we visit again the beach. By this time to see how lively it is at night--

                                                          Fresh Sea Foods Paluto--

More Varieties of Buffets to choose.
Just bring along your money and enjoy the buffets-- Price ranges fro P250-550/ head

Day 4 was our last chance to venture the island, so we planned to have the Island tour, which they charged a P350/ head for 3 hours trip within the island's tourist spots. We ride the multicab as our service, with Manong driver as our official photographer. Thanks manong..nice shots!

Ready for the Island tour!
Our First stopped was on the opposite side of the White beach--which is the Bulabog beach. It has large waves and strong winds year round. This makes it hotspot for wind surfing and kite boarding.

It wasn't smells and looks good at the time we dropped by to this beach (Bulabog). It rained on the night before the day we got here and it was muddy that almost cover the white sand shores. Remember that we're here in July, and it is already rainy season. So best time I could suggest to visit the Island is during Amihan season (November to May) beacuse the beach is calm.

Next stopped was at the Overlooking Boracay which we walked upstairs upto the top so we could overview the whole island.
Soar High Boracay!

PUKA BEACH- it is another beautiful white sand beach located at the northern tip of island. It was named after puka shells that can only be seen on this beach where locals gathered and make it jewelries as some sell it.

This is our last destination for our 3-hours island tour. The Grotto which is the landmark on the beach of station 1. Many tourist find time to take pictures here as souvenir of their stay in Boracay.

Don't Forget To drop by to souvenir shop and buy some souvenirs!

Boracay is offering so many activities to try and enjoy whether by land, sky or water. No more dull days of staying here. Just make sure to plan it well and save money if you wish to try them all!

Good bye! Boracay!

The family really enjoyed the 5-days stay in Boracay and beginning to love coming back sometime..but this time, just for hubby and me! ;)

  1. It seems you really had a whole lot of fun! Three-days are not enough to enjoy Boracay. Unfortunately we weren't able to visit other destinations and attractions like how you had it. We didn't able to tour Area 1 and the Mall...Anyways, hoping we get more provision for future vacationing there. Miss you much, Julie! Take care:)

  3. The Villas we stayed in was really far from the beach proper. But the advantages are--1). When we to go to the beach, we could ask the tricycle driver to drop us off on the station we wanted to wander..that is why we roam the long beach of station 1, 2 and 3 in diferent days. 2). We had peaceful, silent and restful night away from the noise when nightlife starts at the beach area. 3). It is cheaper even if you add the fare for tricycle ride. 4). Suitable for early trip leaving the island because it is only walking distance to the terminal :-) 5). I won't worry thinking if my boys were still at the beach when we (hubby &I) were sleeping in our room, unlike if we stayed right at the beach area where nightlife would be interesting for them to stay outside until dawn..lol!
