Day Tour at Dewi Sri Farm

Clean, tasty, real foods do not come processed in boxes or bags;
they come from the earth, the sea, the field, or farm
~Suzanne Somers~

Young people enjoy the loud sound of music that could almost damage their hearing (I should know because I once a teenager back then who loves loud sounds too). But as a person grows old, it changes ( I know because that's me also asking my sons to lowerr the volume of their music in desktop..should I admit that I am getting old already?). I would love to sometimes be alone and find a "me" time in a peaceful surroundings away from the crowd and loud noise. Though we live in a quiet subdivision in Cavite which is peaceful and not crowded community yet, it is still different when you are surrounded by nature. And if you come to a point in your life finding a tranquil place to unwind and eat organic, healthy cuisines, here I could boast of a Farm named Dewi Sri Farm

I was invited by a friend together with other fellow mommy bloggers with little ones to have a day tour in Dewi Sri Farm in a fine Friday of April 8.

 At first, I had a second thought if I were to attend because we have also swimming in Batangas the next day which require to leave by three in the morning. Plus with the thought if my son who is eleven years old would enjoy the farm ( I didn't tell him at first that we are going to visit a farm, he only knows that we will have swimming there).

We arrived at the farm with a warm welcome greeting from Ms. Elaine ( Marketing/Special Events Manager). The swimming pool is also inviting to splash in as we enter in the Pavilion area but it was done later. We gather at the Pavilion to have some breakfast.

They serve Thai-Indonesian cuisines which is naturally flavorful. They used the vegetables and spices they planted and could gather anywhere and anytime around the farm. Even the juice that was served is a concoction of fresh fruits (pineapple, papaya and watermelon) picked from their own trees which has natural sweetness (no sugar) and it's very healthy and refreshing. After we had our breakfast, the tour began...

Actually, before the proper tour, the rabbits in den was a catch to our children. They were all excited to encounter the rabbits, touched and feed them. Next is an encounter with domesticated animals such goats, chickens and other family of birds like peacocks, geese and ducks and the kids were too excited to feed them too. The chickens are free to roam in a fenced area. They have wild boar too but unfortunately, we didn't see it because it wasn't safe to go to their den that time due to unsafe muddy way going there after some rain.

They have many different fruit-bearing trees planted around such lanzones, jackfruit, rambutan, dragon fruit, pineapple, papaya and many more.

They practice Hydroponics planting for their vegetables which does not require soil to grow them but mineral nutrient solutions in water. Ms. Elaine toured us to different Villas for accommodations for their guests if wished to stay to relax and have nature encounter for more days. They are also open for company team building as they have activity areas where they can do uncommon activities for team building that can only do in the farm like gathering some ingredients around, sometimes need to cross the pond by riding the rakit ( raft) to get the ingredients from the other side then create/cook some dishes out of those ingredients..isn't it too exciting? Oh! btw, did I mention they have rice field also? Don't worry, it is not included in team building activity for you to cook rice in a step-by-step process but for a tour, they will teach you how to plant rice.

The actual farm day tour fee is P450 that comes with snack and lunch. Finally, were done in lunch time and had our lunch in one of the  Villas. Again, they served really good, clean and tasty foods.

The kids were so excited for the next activity which were long awaited after the tour--It's Swimming time!

I did not splash in to the swimming pool because I reserved to be tanned at the beach for the next day Batangas swimming. So, I opted to stay in the villa and started to feel the serenity of the place until felt asleep in an airconditioned room. Wow! totally peacfeul and relaxing! Btw, we were two who stayed in the Villa for a sleep, right mommy Joy M.?

It was indeed a very peaceful, calming and relaxing nature and animals encounter, we ate clean, organic and healthy Thai-Indonesian food in Indonesian inspired working Dewi Sri farm. FYI, Dewi is the name of the youngest child of the owner who wished to have a farm and Sri meaning is the goddess of harvest in Indonesia. It's a great privilege to tour for a day and experienced the life in Dewi Sri Farm which is my dream to own one someday.

Experience true happiness and a peace of mind with simple living in a farm and appreciate the wonderful creations of our gracious, unselfish and awesome God. To live in a farm is a reflection of how God loves us, care for us because He created everything He knew we need before He puts man on earth. We just need to look around, toil and we will not lack of foods.

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.
Genesis 1:29
